Mt. Hope Community Garden Refresh #1

Planning for the initial Garden Refresh with Love, Tito's and Mt. Hope Community Garden was initiated in the Spring of 2020. Like everyone around the world, we adapted our schedules and approach as the pandemic went on. In the summer, Studio Nectary in collaboration with Project New Village, led a virutal community input session to solidify ideas for what should be implemented in this Block to Block initiative garden refresh.

Mt. Hope's community garden model was shifting from 40 raised beds to a more cooperative model, including integrating a food forest, an apothecary garden, a covered classroom and post-harvest space, artistic signage and art panels mounted to the chainlink fence that created a linear gallery for passerbys.

Studio Nectary collaboated wtih Mt Hope, PNV and Love, Tito's to create a work plan for the first Garden Refresh. Other partners from the San Diego County and UCSD Center for Community Health brought their teams to sweat it out and help with this first phase.
